I took a break

............ my cat that I literally raised from birth, died yesterday morning. He was born my senior year in high school, the runt of his litter and his mother abandoned him, refusing all contact, so I bottle fed him and nurtured him to a burlsome 22lbs! Toby would have been six years old next month and he will be greatly missed, our house already seems a little bit emptier with out him arround. He really is in a better place now, he had been sick for a while and lost so much weight but he was a fighter til the end.

I'm sorry about your loss and pain. The unconditional love of an animal makes life pleasant and gives you a reason to keep enduring.

I'm sorry about you loosing your cat. It is hard. Ours wasn't on food for urinary tract disorders. Even if food is an issue, I think there's other factors as well. The amount of water they consume (a good number of domestic cats don't drink as much water as they should), weight, age, genetics.... None of which makes it easier when one's cat dies.

The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Ain't that the truth?

I never had a pet, and I wouldn't think it would be such a big deal unless you were a child who didn't understand the inevitability of death. But, of course, if it's like a friend, then there's still that spot missing I guess. But you'll be fine, I'm sure.

Thank you for your well wishes Susie, I am so sorry that you have never had the joy of owning a pet Wolf, it is one of the most rewarding joys of life, I have long been an animal lover and I wouldn't have it any other way. I have found that animals offer a unique friendship that teaches you so much.

Animals rock! I can see how you can love them more than people. They don't talk.

I'm more of a plant person myself, but I feel for you. I had a gerbal that died when I was little. I was sad. Sorry girl.

I usually prefer animals to people, they don't piss on your head and tell you it's raining! Ha ha, you know it is the truth!
